Dr Steve Nestor

(PT, DPT, COMT)

Dr. Nestor brings a wealth of knowledge to every patient encounter due to his 24+ years of experience in Physical Therapy. He graduated Northeastern University in 1996 with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy. In 2002, he completed advanced training in Manual Therapy and became a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT) through the Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS). In 2006, he completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professions an academic affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Nestor has worked in Massachusetts and Rhode Island in various outpatient orthopedic settings. In addition to treating patients he is an accomplished continuing education instructor. He has been a faculty member for Maitland Australian Physiotherapy Seminars (MAPS) since 2010 and taught post graduate Physical Therapy courses nationwide on topics such as manual therapy, orthopedic examination techniques, spinal and extremity stabilization exercise.

Dr. Nestor is the co-creator and instructor for “Physical Therapy Management of Cervical Spine Disorders” a previous elective for the Transitional Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at Northeastern University. He has been a part time instructor at Northeastern University from 2009 to 2013. Dr. Nestor has presented with Orthopedic Physicians at regional conferences.

Dr. Nestor is a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Golf Fitness Instructor. He brings his expertise of the spine and extremities to the rehab and physical training of golfers. He has had the pleasure of working with local golf teaching professionals and amateur golfers. His patients are able to resume golf due to a successful rehab program and his golfers report improvements in their golf games after completing a personalized golf specific training program.

Dr. Nestor enjoys traveling with his wife and spending time with family and friends. His hobbies include cooking, gardening, reading, and golfing.

Something you might not know about Dr. Nestor?

He is a two-time Barbecue UniversityTM graduate. He has been cited in Steven Raichlen’s book “The Brisket Chronicles” and has worked on Seasons Two and Three of Steven Raichlen’s TV show “Project Fire”. He is a guest blogger on Steven Raichlen’s website Barbecuebible.com.
